PolicyIRON will
always be accepting applications from strong players. It is our belief that by keeping our doors open, we will never miss a chance at that truly amazing player. Just because we may have what we need at the time does not mean we cannot improve our roster. The goal must be to continually refine our membership in preparation for anything Blizzard can throw at us. That being said there are some very simple criteria that must be met.
-At least 18 years old.
-Fluent in English.
-Forum Access
-Vent software installed with the ability to speak to us through it.
-Able to consistently attend our raids 7:00-11:30pm Pacific (Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu).
-Willing to take instruction, and be professional.
-Character name cannot include non standard characters.
RegistrationWe ask that all of our members and potential members register on this website with the exact spelling of your main character in game. The name Tredvolt in game should be registered as "Tredvolt" not as "tredvolt" or "TredVolt". The forums are a simple extension of the game and in the interest of simplicity we will keep our name scheme consistent. If you switch your main character your forum name will also be switched. Forum activity is compulsory and those that are not logging in and participating are subject for removal from the guild.
ApplicationAfter registering one may apply to the guild by emailing
ironap@gmail.com. There is no application template and copying previous applications is strongly discouraged. The type of recruits we are looking for know what kind of information to provide in an application. Providing links to WWS reports from previous raids you have been on is immensely helpful, especially if you are from another server. This email address is accessed by our recruitment officers. Each and every application will receive a response regardless of decision. Decisions will usually be made within a week of the application. Information from the application is considered confidential and the details will not be discussed outside of our administration. This is especially important for those who may be applying to us from other guilds. We respect that they may not wish to compromise standing with their current guild until they know if they would be accepted to IRON. Please understand the we take this privacy issue very seriously and will work with individuals' specific needs in order to make this process as easy as possible.
OrientationWhile every guild has their own way of doing things, IRON has been described as radically different from the traditional guild. IRON has existed since the year 1998 and has developed a very consistent and methodical way of operating. These ways will often and purposefully challenge the status quo and require our members be more open-minded. Many players are unable or unwilling to embrace these ideas and goals. We wish those players good luck in their pursuit of a guild that is more suited to their needs, but we will not compromise our ideals. To that end it is helpful to have an orientation to answer any questions or explain more thoroughly our policies and methods that may have not been as detailed during the application process. This will typically take place on vent and is simply meant to help the new player acclimate to the new surroundings.
MembershipAfter completing the entire process, one's status is upgraded to member and will have full access and privileges. There is not a trial period or any other special conditions for new recruits outside of completing this process. As guilds go IRON is not difficult to get into but keep in mind that it is also not difficult to get removed from. There will never be any guarantees for long term membership. Bottom line is that we are here to play a game together and to achieve progress. We aren't a support group or an afterschool social event. If you fail to be able to provide value, out of respect to the remaining members we will remove you. This does not mean if you have a planned vacation for a month that you will be removed. What it does mean is that those who have permanent work schedule conflicts or any other lifestyle changes that prevent participation will be considered for quick removal. We expect our players to take participation in IRON the same as any other serious hobby. In the same way a school's sports team requires attendance and accountability so will we too. IRON is not meant to be oppressive or add stress to one's life but inevitably any goal worth striving for takes dedication and commitment which is often hard to maintain. I want all of our potential members to seriously consider the above before applying.
